Honeywell 17000 Permanent Pure HEPA QuietCare Air PurifierReviewsApproximately two months ago, I purchase the Honeywell 17000 Permanent Pure HEPA QuietCare Air Purifier. What can I say about this particular model? If you are looking for a quality purifier(for medium rooms)without spending a lot of money, this is the model you are looking for -- hands down! At low setting, the "white noise" helps me sleep at night, which is the primary reason I purchased this product. I am totally satisfied with this purifier and never looked back! I highly recommend the Honeywell 17000!! I purchased this as a gift for my Son In Law. He has allergy & asthma problems. He & his wife both think it has helped. He seems to sleep better when it is used. Honeywell 17000 Permanent Pure HEPA QuietAir Purifier made by Honeywell is an excellent air cleaner. The reasons for this are: 1. it's a right out of the box operation, just unpack it, check that all the filters are where they are supposed to be and plug in and start. 2. it's quiet... oh, you can hear it run, and it has LED light to show that it is working, and at what speed. The lights are green and they turn to amber when the filters need changing or attention. 3. The air return is at the top and dispersed quickly throughout the room. 4. This model of the Honeywell air filter picks up small particles from the air in the room... I've noticed that the fine particle dust that plagues your furniture is down considerably. 5. If you have pets, ( cats or dogs ), the hair dander is being filtered from the air that you breathe. 6. I've noticed that cooking orders have been reduced., also. I just plugged the Honeywell in and set the variable speed and let it work. I don't even notice it any more, while it quietly does the job it was intended to do clear the air you breathe. Oh, if you have asthma, this is the air cleaner you need to get. There is a marked decrease in allergens in the air and breathing is so much better. I know this because I have seasonal asthma and I've notice breathing is easier. For the price, it's worth the money. The Honeywell 17000 comes in a subdued white color making it fit into most decors. I had a Honeywell prior to this model, also with the HEPA filter. When it finally stopped working ( 10 year running ). I was looking for a replacement and I have found the right machine to do the job. I've decreased my medications, with doctor supervision, and I feel great. Now, all I have to do is get another for the bedroom and I'll have cleaner air to breathe in the areas of the house where I spend the most time. Honeywell has made an air cleaner that you can depend upon. Giving it 5 stars from a person who both uses and appreciates air that is non-allergenic, is my pleasure After having my 2nd child, my allergies seemed to really take off. We were faced with the grim reality that we may need to find a new home for our cats. We put this in our bedroom for one night felt immediaty clear the next morning. We've decided to buy two more for other areas of the house. It is not the quietest thing around, but I love sleeping with white noise anyway. If it means the sinus infections will stop, I'll deal with the noise. I bought the Honeywell 17000 because we have two dogs and both me and my wife can get horrible seasonal allergies. My seasonal allergies were so bad that medication was doing little to curb the symptoms, and I was buying tissue boxes every single week. One of the dogs sheds, and they both track in plenty of outside dust into the house. So in order to breath better at night I bought the Honeywell 17000. Other reviews had stated that it moved a lot of air without being too loud, and that is true. Even with the unit right next to my bed I can fall asleep with it on low. The medium and high settings are much louder however. But even on low there is a lot of clean air coming out of the unit. I haven't woke up to a stuffy nose since I bought the unit. It doesn't draw too much power on low so we have left it on 24/7 for several months now. It is still as quiet as when we first turned it on, and there isn't any sign of wear or noise from the extra time. My only con is that the carbon filter, which is only to eliminate extra smells, seemed to wear off pretty quickly. But the permanent HEPA filter so far has taken in a lot of dust without loosing performance. Average Rating:![]() |
