This Hunter isn't horrible, but there are other options that are better. Check out reviews at Air Purifier Power -- I am not affiliated with that site, I just found it while shopping around and the reviews are unusually detailed. For me, I ended up returning this Hunter and getting a RabbitAir unit. It's more expensive up front, but its maintenance costs are significantly less than the Hunter's, and the RabbitAir's quality is much better. I ran the Hunter for a few days, and it was okay. I ran the RabbitAir one night, and it was much better. And the RabbitAir is significantly quieter. Also, there are some other brands that offer cheaper alternatives and still are better than this Hunter... I'm thinking Sharp and Whirlpool--a friend of mine has a Whirlpool and swears by it.

The vascular surgeon I work for placed this model's bigger cousin in the surgical procedure room in our office. Loved the results! Some of the surgical dressings we wrap patient's legs with post procedure drift small sized lint and fibers as we use them. The Hunter Air Purifer got rid of them. When my asthma kicked up this year and I had to take an extended medical leave my lung specialist encouraged the use of an air purifer especially in the bedroom. I purchased this Hunter model. I have had it for 2 weeks and love the results! We have 3 cats and the resulting dander and hair, plus the usual room dust. They have really decreased since the Hunter was installed. I love the "white noise" and my husband has no complaints about it either. It is not as loud as fan noise on a medium setting we have had in the bedroom previously. As it has a HEPA filter, I know replacement filters will cost more, but should be worth it. A HEPA type air purifer was the only one recommended by my lung specialist to reduce room allergens. I plan to purchase a second unit prior winter to place in the laundry room where the litter boxes live. At Amazon's pricepoint and SuperSaver or Prime shipping I am recommending it to all our patients with asthma/allergies. I told my surgeon boss about how much it has helped me and he purchased three more of the larger units, one for each exam room, so the dust will be reduced for me. P.S. For cat lovers: Recently I began using a new cat litter Worlds Best Cat Litter 17 lb Originaland have really been pleased with it. No dust(silica dust from clay products, this one is a corn product) when you pour it into the litter box, the best odor control ever, and much less tracking. If you have cats and allergies/asthma I highly recommend checking into this litter. Happy Breathing!

Great product for the price. You can feel the difference in air quality and especially my wife and daughter who have allergies, this machine is on all of the time now. It isn't super quiet on the med & high settings but it only would be switched on that high while we are out of the room and and needed some extra air clean-up. One side effect of the air cleaner running on low all the time is how the room it is in feels a few degreees cooler than other rooms. It really moves the air around like a nice, quiet fan. We bought a 2nd one for another room!!

We got this unit as a gift..it emitted a horrible burning smell that permeated half the house. We put it in the garage and ran it for a week..the smell did not go away. Contacted Hunter...very long waits on the phone. Once they do answer they are happy to help. We sent the cord from the unit back and got a replacement unit. The second unit emitted the same awful burning smell. Went through the same incredibly long wait to customer service. They gladly sent us a different model altogether. I cannot understand how the third unit smelled as bad as the others. You would think before they sent a third unit out they might test it first. We am so disappointed in their air cleaners. We just cannot purchase a filter from this company. If you have lung issues...steer clear of this company!

The Hunter 30901 Replacement Pre-Filter for the HEPAtech Quiet Flo Air Purifier is one of the best on the market. Use exclusively in our office building with the Hunter 30940 Replacement Filter which works well for reducing our mold contaminants.

I've been running the older version of this air purifier 24 X 7 for over 10 years...maybe 12. It is backed up against a wall in a vaulted-ceiling room between a piano and organ where cats like to play. It takes up very little space and consumes a great deal of dust and hair. The exhaust blows straight up the wall which is perfect for this location. Recently, it began emitting a high-pitch, undulating squeal. I assumed that the sealed bearing on the motor shaft was wearing out. So, I ordered this new Hunter Air Purifier. In the mean time, I placed the old squeaky cleaner on its back and soaked the motor shaft with CRC Heavy Duty silicone spray while turning the shaft with my hand for 5 minutes. That was a month ago and it is still running as smoothly and quietly as new. The new cleaner is still in the box, however, I did test it to make certain that it was in good working order. How would you like to save a ton of money? Just like printer companies sell their printers at a bargain and then charge a fortune for the ink cartridges, air-cleaner manufacturers employ the same tactics with their disposable filters. Check their prices. OUCH! $30.00 to $60.00. For years I've been using the same pleated, high-efficiency filters that I use in our central heat and air system. I buy them by the case lot(12), online from ACE Hardware for $4.00 each (free shipping to store) and cut them to fit the Hunter Air Purifier. ACE runs frequent sales. Now, how about the expensive charcoal-pre-filter? Check out the universal replacement pre-filter 38002. They cost about $10.00 each. I have found them in bulk for as low as $8.00 apiece. Cut them to fit. Even the leftover pieces can be easily connected with the enclosed male strips of the hook & loop (Velcro). Of all the air cleaners running in our home, this Hunter is the least expensive to run 24 X 7 because I can make alternative filters. This is not the case with the large barrel-shaped cleaners and filters that circulate air 360 degrees. When the barrel-shaped air cleaners die, I replace them with these Hunter wall-huggers. When my back is against the wall, I don't go to the mall. I look for a bargain. That usually begins with Amazon.Com.

I cannot believe what a great job this air purifier does. It is so quite that you forget that it is there. I have asthma and purchased this hoping it would help. At first I thought that it was not working but gradually I started feeling better and the dust (I live in a leaky old house)has gradually dissapeared from the living area. The only drawback is having to clean the filters often but that is easier than dusting ceilings!

Good unit, overall does a good job. I can't give more than three stars because it doesn't remove odors absolutely completely, it only reduces them to a confortable point. Good deal for the money though.

My husband and I are avid hunters and love hunting whitetail deer and wild Russian bore. We have tried everything from Dead Down Wind to Scent Away, and have been winded almost everytime. Then we used SCENT GOTTA GO! And all we can say is WOW. This stuff is simply amazing. Last year we were in a ground blind and put extra limbs and small branches around the blind. We of course sprayed ourselves and the blind with SCENT GOTTA GO. Within about an hour 6 Whitetail Doe's came within 200 ft DOWNWIND! 2 actually came up to our blind and were eating the leaves off the tree branches we placed there!! I could have reached out and tapped one on the nose. They had no idea we were there!!!! We waited for the buck but he never showed that day but we got him on day 2. THANK YOU FOR SCENT GOTTA GO.. We will NEVER use anything else...
