When we got this set, I loved it, and while it worked, it worked great. Both my son and I have horrible allergies and this kept us from suffering. HOWEVER!! About 1 year after I dished out the $175 I paid for these units, one stopped working. I called customer support, who told me a replacement would be no problem, but tech support would have to call me back. Tech Support called a few hours later and was very heavily Indian accented, I had a hard time understanding, but after doing what he suggested, the unit still wasn't working so I called the direct number he gave me. He told me I needed to buy the extended warranty (2 more years) for $30. At first I thought this was great, until he told me then it would be $30 for them to send the unit back to me, after I paid to ship the unit to them... That means I would spend $90 on one unit to get it "fixed"! It was insane to me. The other unit followed suit and died a few months later. Please save your money and don't get this unit. It won't last.

We live in an older building, which means we have mold. After the air conditioning system clogged and spilled water down the walls, we ordered this set. The package arrived withing four days of ordering. I think that is very prompt service. The Ionic Pro Air Purifiers have reduced the dust, lint (in the sewing room) and odor in the apartment. The units are easy to clean, though we will be buying spare fins before Winter. They are so quiet, and do not interfere with sleep, conversations, or listening to TV or radio. The nicest asset is the lack of the musty, mildewed "aroma" we smelled every time we came in from the outdoors. The bonus car ionizers do work, but we drive with windows down, so can't give an accurate assessment of their abilities. I would (and have) recommended this product to friends and family who have allergy-related problems. Cordially, Nehmah

Having NICE clean air in my room.. My daughter sleeps better, and WOW!!! I can't remember the last time I have slept so good in my room. Im Impressed!!! However.. DO NOT LET THE "free car ionizers" sell you on this. They DO NOT WORK at ALL!!!!! Ohh sure its a very pretty blue light in your vehicle, but there is NOTHING that comes out of the car version is worth it... I've yet to smell ANY difference at ALL in either of my vehicles.. NOT WORTH IT!!

One of the air purifiers did not work. I had to send them back. Do NOT buy this product. Buy the Sharper Image brand. Now, that's quality!

I originally purchased this product 3 years ago from WalMart. I loved the product and had no problems with it. I had a problem with pet odors in my home and after using the product the odors were gone! It was easy to use and easy to clean. After about 3 years of continuous use, the product broke down. I recently purchased the product from Amazon in this 2 pack. I read some customer reviews that were unhappy with the customer service, but since I hadn't had any problems with the product, I ignored them. When I received the product I opened it immediately and plugged them both in. One worked perfrectly, the other was defective. By the time I went to return the product, it was too late to return to Amazon, so I needed to contact the manufacturer. I called them and they said they would call me back. They never did. A few weeks later, I tried again. Then said they would call be back, but again 2 days later I had not heard from them. I called a third time and spoke with a woman that did not speak very good english. She informed me that I would have to mail it to them at my cost and keep track of the shipping number. When the product arrived there I was to call them back and let them know that THEY had received it. Then I would be charged $29.95 to send me a new unit. So, I spent approximately $100 for a defective unit and would have to pay around $60 to get a new one sent to me. Needless to say, I am not returning the product and I will not be purchasing a replacement from this company. Buyer beware!

The Ionic Pro Turbo worked great for about a week. I don't have pets or an excessively dusty house. I followed the directions to the letter, but it continued to make the buzzing sound even after being cleaned. Now it won't work at all. I've had it about 2 months. I've cleaned it several times (not that there is anything to clean) and now as soon as I turn it on it immediately tells me to clean it. It's not in a large room either. I am extremely disappointed in this item and would not recommend to anyone. I read in one review that they had luck with top loading purifiers, but I won't buy from this maker again.

Hi I rarely write reviews, I just want to spare everyone the misery of having to deal with this. I have allergies, I was recommended by someone to buy purifier. Worked beautifully for 3 days, then the Clean light kept coming on! every time I clean it as per the instruction, it would work again but shortly after turn off indicating that I need to clean the unit again! I called customer service, we went through a couple of things. It didn't work. I went back to the store adn I got it exchanged, thinking this unit is not good. 4 days after exchange, Same problem! this unit keep buzzing, and makes these sounds that are similar to the bug zapper, at night i saw the lights from the zapping between the plates! mmmm wouldn't this be a fire hazard in a bedroom! It cleans the air well, but for few days only! I am tired of cleaning the plates every few hours to make it work again and this is when it's less than a week old. I can imagine how long it will be on after a month! don't waste your money. I can't recommend other stuff here, but you may want to look into a different technologies called photocatalysis they are expensive, but they work!

The Ionic Pro Turbo requires very specific cleaning instructions that are a pain. Nonetheless, I followed the instructions to a T. The unit buzzes loudly if it is not cleaned. In my case, no matter how much I cleaned it the unit began to buzz nonstop after 6 months. The manufacturer told me tough luck. They would replace it for $60 and I had to pay shipping to send the old unit back and get the new one. So the total cost was going to be $80. I decided to pass and look for a higher quality better unit. Stay away from products from this company. They are unreliable.

I had an Ionic Breeze for years and it worked fantastic. I also had an Oreck air purifier which also worked great but was expensive so I thought I would save money buying the Ionic Pro. Bad choice. Within 2 weeks it started making noise so I got out the cleaning instructions - did all the numerous things they require you to do (ugh) and cleaned with a damp cloth and set it out overnight before returning to the unit. For one, the blades collected almost nothing. Although my house is very clean I would have expected more. I use it for my allergies. I followed the directions to the tee but the darn thing started making that annoying noise almost immediately. Went through the steps again and again then the noise went away but now the unit turns off after a few hours. I have to set a calendar reminder to pump the unit once every 2 weeks which is so ridiculous. The product description and advertising is misleading and a joke. You just don't wipe with a damp cloth and off you go - sorry not true. This product is a rip-off. I guess if you have nothing better to do but maintain this unit then it's for you. Oh, by the way, calling customer service? Right, they think of many ways not to make good on the warranty. What a surprise.

I got this when I lived next door to a smoker. It did help clean the air but not immediately as the neighbor was smoking but it cleared the air much faster than it would have if I wasn't usint the unit. It was quiet and it had no filters I had to replace but if I left it on long enough this God awful metallic smell would come from it and it made the air feel heavy to me. Even after I'd shut it off, it still had an odor to it. I would not recommend this unit. For me, it seemed bad for my health, just by the way it made me feel after it had been on for awhile.

I have an Ionic Breeze, and the dust in my house is actually worse since I've used it. The ions attract the dirt to every charged surface in the home where it usally isn't a problem, and it's not just a regular dust, it's a gritty sticky film. My mirrors and windows have a film on them that's hard to remove, my walls are dull, my furniture has a film on it, my wooden floors are dull. The dust is not like regular dust that can just be wiped away. I didn't suspect that the Ionic Breeze would be the problem, so I checked my furnace filter to see if it needed changed, and it didn't, because I thought it was advertised to do the opposite. I thought I was just thinking there's more dust than usual, and couldn't figure it out, but after I did a web search, it said that the ions charge the surfaces of your home, and the dust in your home is attracted to the nearest surface where it sticks, and it makes complete sense to me. I found no benefit from this product at all. It did have some kind of "clean smell" that you notice every once in a while, but I never noticed exceedingly fresh air that was any different in quality than before, and I don't breathe easier or whatever they advertise it as. I would not reccommend this product to anyone. Unless you like to dust more than usual, and you want your house to look like it has a film on everything, go right ahead.

We received an Ionic Breeze for Christmas several years ago from my parents. I put it in the largest room in the house and let it run constantly. We had carpet at this time. For a dust remover, it's very poor. It just simply doesn't have the air volume or dust collection capacity. That's what your central air unit is for - with close to four square feet of filter or more. As an air purifier it's excellent. I removed all the carpet in our house, installed fake wood floors, and moved the unit to my bedroom. I can get at least three or four weeks between cleanings - even with a cat. The lack of carpet really cut down on the dust in the house and the I.B. in my room helps me sleep better at night. * My unit is silent unless it's dirty. * It has three speeds but I wonder who runs it on anything but max? * It claims to only use a few watts - I haven't put a meter on it yet. * I would probably never pay this much for an air cleaner unless I was (more) wealthy.

Several years ago before Cosumer Reports slandered Sharper Image out of business, I bought an Ionic Breeze Quadra from my neighborhood Shaper Image store. It was expensive at the time but I thought it was well worth it. Well as soon as my wife read the report about ionic air cleaners, she bought it hook, line and sinker... and why not, is Consumers Reports EVER wrong? (BTW the answer to that is yes, more offer than people realize) So she packed it away in the attic and refused to look at it, let alone use it. There is sat for almost 3 years. Today, while cleaning the attic I found my old friend. I dusted off the box, took out the Quadra and hooked it up in my office. Suddenly, my office smells clean. I feel like I can breathe again. It's spring-time in South Jersey... take means everything outside is covered in a thick layer of yellow pollen. well, I'm safe inside with my old friend. It still works perfectly and is completely silent. This product is amazing. Like or not, it works. For the record, I see nothing that says it will eliminate the need for you to dust ever again. I didn't buy it for that reason and if you did... well, you're either lazy or a fool. And as far as the zapping noise goes, I was instructed when I bought this that you should clean it with a DRY cloth. If you need to use Windex or something, you MUST let it dry before using it. If you get a zapping sound, that means the collection plates are still holding moisture. Think about it... negative and positive ions and a little bit of moisture... that's the same recipe for a lightning storm! Let the plates air dry. Just because you wiped them dry does not mean that they are dry. My Quadra is now and always was COMPLETELY silent. The little bathroom one on the other hand was never silent. It was a free gift for spending $350, what do you expect? In an objective summary: it remove odors, removes something from the air as the collection plates need to be cleaned twice a week, it is completely silent and costs $10 a year to operate 24/7. The room smells clean and fresh and I don't have allergy problems. I would love to know from these lemmings (especially from the ones who own a herd of cats) if the best rated Consumer Reports air cleaner eliminated their need to dust?

excellent product. It cleans the air and prevents the allergies from occurring. I bought the last one Amazon had.....I wish Sharper Image still made them.

I am amazed at any rating below 4 stars! I understand if you get a hissing or "lightning" sound, Then send it back. Over the years I took 2 back to the Sharper Image store which they exchanged no questions asked! The principal is this: The Ionic Breeze creates negative Ions and throws them out the front of the unit. As it does it draws air through it and will catch some of the airborne partials. Most of what it does is to "catch" partials with the negative ions attaching themselves to the dander or allergen and driving it to the ground. The offending allergen is no longer in the air for you to breathe, thereby making the air cleaner. You DO have to vacuum more often but the space is truly cleaner. I have three of them right now, normally had four. A large unit will generally clean a 12 X 14 room in less than 3 hours. I am ashamed to say I had a mouse (dead) in a trap for a long time and was unaware of it until I cleaned the room, there was no scent of it at all! ( Should have been from the look of it, Sorry folks). I'm just saying its that good! The unit is expensive, but when they work, they WORK!
