The Benefits of Owning an Air Purifier

If you watch television, listen to the radio, or surf the internet, there is a good chance that you have heard of air purifiers before. Air purifiers are electronic machines that work to make indoor air healthier. This is done by trapping harmful air particles in the filters or collection grids. Essentially, this means that your air will not only be healthier, but easier to breathe.

I think these bags do a pretty good job of filtering the particles - you almost don't smell anything while vaccuming. I think they are well worth the price.

I love my Hoover "Platinum Edition" vacuum cleaner. Yes, the bags are somewhat expensive, but the quality is great and Amazon was a better route to go than searching locally. I will be back for more.

The bags work very well but I think they are a little on the pricey side.

These bags are standard equipment for my Hoover Platinum upright vacuum cleaner. They are more expensive than the bags I used to buy for my Eureka boss or the bags for my Panasonic canister. Keep in mind, however that these bags are HEPA media, trapping dust and pollens down to .3 microns. With such an effective bag in the vacuum, there's no need to have a separate and expensive HEPA filter too. I have a personal preference for bagged vacuums and like the idea of trapping and keeping all the carpet gunk in a contained medium. The bags look and feel of high quality and are heavier and thicker than other vacuum bags I have used. They feel soft and almost clothlike. I like that the bags are easy to install and go on tightly so that there are no bursts of dust thrown back into the air. These Q-HEPA bags are very large and I've read anecdotes of them lasting up to six months. I dont think they'll last that long for me; I vacuum the house every day because lots of dirt is tracked in the house by two dogs and myself. The owner's guide for the vacuum advises not using any scented powder or powdered cleaner on the carpets because the dust may clog the bags. This could be a problem for those who use Capture carpet cleaner as I do. Also if one gets fleas in the carpet, it's best to vacuum often and change the bag frequently, an expensive proposition with these bags. To keep the bag smelling fresh I like to add a scent tablet, car air cleaner, or some potpourri to the bag before installation. The price for these bags on Amazon is good, especially with the four for three deal if it's available when you read this. Other vendors list these bags for slightly less than Amazon does, but consider the additional postage charged by these sellers. Finally - I really like the bags and love the Hoover Platinum vacuum cleaner.

I really enjoy these bags in my new Hoover Platinum vacuum cleaner. MUCH more room than a bagless. I can do my whole house 3200 sq. ft. without once changing or emptying anything - and not just once either. Which means MUCH MUCH less dust floating around me. What this bag takes in, it KEEPS. I really can not see a single piece of dust coming out of this vacuum cleaner. Lest you think I don't HAVE dust, I have a chocolate lab that produces it's weight every 10 days in shed hair, and a son that is learning to cook. I also live in Texas, so everything aquires a fine patina around here. *smiles* The bags seem expensive, although Amazon is the cheapest we have found them. It is worth it to me to be able to keep going when my energy is up enough to vacuum, and for the lack of post vacuum dust that remains.

THis vacuum is so lightweight, but acts like a kirby. The bags are expensive, but very big and I've gone months without having to change it. If you have steps, you can vacuum the steps with the big vacuum it is so light and easy to use. I find that I vacuum much more than I used to. My only request would be a self-winding cord. I love Hoovers and this takes the cake. I love that it doesn't have much plastic on it (breaks too easiily).

Does not have ability to adjust for carpet height and is not self-propelled. I like the small canister, but do not recommend the upright.

I purchased this one to replace an old Hoover bagless vacuum. I wanted to go back to a bagged machine as the bagless ones are so dirty to empty. The first time I used the platinum I couldn't believe the power behind such a lightweight machine! I have only been using it a month now, so I haven't had to change the bag yet. The canister is great for using in the cars, on furniture, etc. The only drawback I can find is having to adjust to not having onboard tools, but the canister is easy to use. The main reason I went with this model was the fact it had a handle on the upright to be able to use it on stairs which it handles great! I would definitely recommend buying this one!!!

Love the suction on this vac--really fluffs up the carpet nap. Too strong for small area rugs. Lightweight and simple to use.

I have had this vacuum for 6 months now and have had no problems. I previously had an Oreck. This Hoover out performs the Oreck for suction/pickup and is much quieter. I like it having 2 speeds and being self adjusting for height. The helping handle on it is handy too. I would definately recommend it. I'm very happy with it.

I do not recommend buying this vacuum. I had it only a couple months when the hose tore between the metal wire loops of the hose. Eureka did replace it but the second hose did the same thing. Then the electrical cord tore right where it comes out of the vacuum from rubbing on the plastic frame. The dog hair attachment tool did not hold up long either. It does have good suction but with all the repairing that I have had to do with it, I have found it to be more bother than it is worth. I think I am going to go back to Kenmore. I have never had good luck with Eureka products but had excellent luck with the Kenmore brand. I am sorry I wasted the money on another Eureka product!

The vacuum itself when new is excellent. It does a great job of cleaning, has plenty of suction and agitates and grooms carpet really well. The allergen reduction system (filter bags, motor filter and "HEPA" filtration on the exhaust) are pretty good at reducing airborne particles. That being said, the quality of most of the materials is pretty poor and some of the engineering choices are really questionable. The vacuum has a spring-loaded dingus that removes the roller load from the motor when it's locked in the upright position or when you manually toggle the bare floor setting. Initially, this works alright (if not a bit kludgey...) However, after 12 months or so of use, mine stopped disengaging the roller and would burn through the thin plastic belt if you didn't immediately toggle the bare floor switch. I was sort of reluctant to live with this, but since it was really the only issue with the machine at this point, it wasn't too terrible. Just lock it upright, flip the switch. Tilt the handle back, untoggle the switch. This allowed me to keep the machine from eating belts and saved me from having to hear the roller spinning and rattling in the upright position. We continued to use the vacuum in this condition for a while, but since it was out of warranty, the price to fix the broken belt mechanism was going to be about the same as a new machine. It ended up lasting another 6 months or so until this week when it decided to start burning through belts even when the mechanism was set to bare floor, the exhaust filter retention bracket (cheap plastic) became brittle and broke when we changed the filter and the bag retention mechanism (again, cheap plastic) became brittle and broke when we replaced the bag, and the left bearing cap melted (I'd wager due to the heat caused by the weird belt condition) Now, this wasn't the result of mistreating or beating on it or anything. These parts merely wore out over the course of 18 months, which I suppose isn't terrible when some of the reviewers have indicated a machine life of less than 12 months. I wouldn't really recommend this unit to anyone unless you enjoy replacing vacuum cleaners every 12 months. Ours has since been replaced by a Hoover Platinum upright that feels much more solid, has a better warranty and comparable suction and allergen reduction, which we're extremely happy with.

I guess my old vacumes were either just really old or never worked well. I have dogs and after the 1st use of this vacume the hair was finally gone from a carpet that always had some left over hairs no matter how many times I used my old vacume on it. I am very pleased with the purchase. It is a very heavy vacume but I bought it to use on my main floor (where my dogs are) so that is Ok. The attachments work well too. I am considering buying the hose extension so I can clean my steps because the stair cleaner is very good too. For the price this is a great vacume!

Definitely the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. It has incredible suction power and is not heavy as some other reviews have stated. For the price you can't go wrong with the Boss!

I did quite a bit of research before purchasing my next vacuum and am glad I did so. This vacuum is the bomb! It easily switches from bare floors to carpet, a main selling point for me. It is a little heavier than I expected, but the performance completely outweighs that issue!!! Would highly recommend.

Let's face it. Most vacuums just don't cut it when it comes to really cleaning a home or office. Pesky pet hair embeds deeper in carpet than traditional vacuums go; bits and pieces of tracked-in dirt and debris hunker down under floor trim just out of reach of the latest brush innovations, rendering us to the silliness of handpicking behind that expensive vacuum, filling our pockets with lint, and wondering--who's really the boss? Troubles like these made the folks at Eureka get down and dirty and, ultimately, design the Boss Smart-Vac Upright Vacuum...

Handful of Stars Handful of Stars

Dave McKenna is one of the most consistent of pianists--his run of discs for the Concord label is of invariably high quality. Most of them are solo discs, & this is no exception; as usual with McKenna, his fondness for theme-based albums (this one, as the title indicates, includes only tunes with the word "star" in the title) works out for the best, prompting a mixture of classic chestnuts like "Lost in the Stars" & "Stella by Starlight", & little-played tunes like "Count Every Star" and "Swinging on a Star".This is one of McKenna's gentler discs, perhaps a touch too dreamy; his hard-swinging side comes out only occasionally. But it gives the listener a good chance to hear his beautifully warm & thoughtful ballad-playing. McKenna is so unflashy that the casual listener may miss the amazing technical skill on display, in his ability to unfussily shift melody and chording between hands (& digits). His sense of swing is rock-steady, so much so that he is one of the few pianists with whom a drummer or bassist would be a distraction. This isn't perhaps quite McKenna's finest work--I like the near-contemporaneous disc _Shadows and Dream_ a tad better, I think (sure enough, it's a collection of tunes with "shadow" and "dream" in their titles). But it still is more than worthwhile. Concord's Maybeck Recital Hall series sometimes suggests that contemporary jazz solo piano is too full of flash & complexity; McKenna's approach cuts out all the fat: it's about as close to purity as modern jazz gets.

I guess i'm in the minority with this opinion, but this is by far the best cd that I have ever heard from Dave Mckenna. It is a very exciting cd. It has already become my favorite cd by Dave.On this cd Dave plays a lot of my favorite songs. He uses great control to not mess up these songs. He does improvise a little, but not to any extreme. He gives most of the songs a nice taste. You jazz fans out there, listen up. This cd is one that you will cherish. Please give this cd a chance.Recommendation: Buy this cd and enjoy!

This is advertised as fitting "ALL" CHV cordless cyclonic hand vacs, and it even says so on the Black & Decker box. I bought this along with a CHV 1688 dust buster cordless. THIS FILTER DOES NOT FIT - it's too big. The proper hepa filter for a CHV 1688 is a VF08H, which Amazon does not carry.

the VF100 replacement filterVF100H DOES NOT fit my dust buster ! the specs state "fits all CHV Cylonic hand vacs " . not even close ! try to find a HEPA filter for the B&D model CHV1688 .

When I looked at my filter on my dust buster, I was shocked and disgusted by how incredibly filthy it was. I immediately went on-line to order some new ones. It was really easy to change out and I feel much better knowing there's a clean filter.

I've been happy with this filter. Although disposable, I've tapped it on rocks and blown it out with an air compressor, and have kept on using after nearly a year. Does a good job catching wood stove ashes and other fine dust.

This is the Cadillac of Dustbusters ;) Both tools do fit on the bottom. Everyone enjoys using it. No issues with run time.

Yes the filters are $119, but by using the pre-filter bags and making sure only to use this vacuum when doing lead dust work, this vacuum, according to their website, is EPA certified to capture down to .3 microns, which is the EPA requirement. They also sell drywall sanding attachments, grinder attachments, and paint scrapper attachments... So this a basic EPA HEPA vacuum that is now the base level for any jobsite work pre-1978, but of course you will still need all the 6 mil plastic, LEAD signs, caution tape, etc...joys...

Surround Air XJ-3000 Spare Filter Surround Air XJ-3000 Spare Filter

This is the replacement filter for the surround air. After I had spent months doing research on different air filtration systems, I did not just look at infomercials. I decided on surround air because it had 5 levels if purification and sanitizing. It was not super expensive. It had a longer warrenty than most. And a very important detail is that it was not expensive to maintain changing filters and such, it turns out to be about $2.50 a month. That seems a fair price to pay for waking with a clear nose and no headache.

Any air filtration system is only as good as the filters it uses. If your system takes these filters, you have about the best of the best for allergens, dander and smoke removal short of the condensing units used for commercial purposes. I think it might even do better than those smoke eaters in bars. The ion sanitation will really change the air in your place in less than an hour. I can't recommend this filter enough, my first one is still working perfectly 6 months later at 2 hours a day use.

Very good system received the 3 units 3 years ago - just hate the cost of the filters but good price on amazon.

I really don't have much to say about a filter replacement. As these things go, this one is very good. It's sturdy and easy to use. It holds up well and lasts as long as the manufacturer says, even in a household with pets. The size makes it easy to store too. They aren't cheap, but I don't have to buy them too often, and it's worth it for the level of air quality they produce.

The filters for this machine work really well. The machine itself is quiet, and deoderizes a small room within minutes.

Despite the fact that you know what an air purifier is and what it does, do you know the benefits of owning or using one? If you do not currently own an air purifier, also commonly known as an air cleaner, there is a good chance that you will want one, after examining the benefits of using one. That is right, air purifiers are that good.

As mentioned above, air purifiers work to eliminate dangerous or unhealthy contaminants from the air. Doing this makes the air inside your home easier to breathe. This is great for young children, the elderly, as well as those with allergies. When breathing cleaner air, your health is likely to improve. There is a good chance that you may find yourself getting ill less often.

In addition to getting ill less often, it has been said that the air we breathe has an impact on our emotions and wellbeing. Therefore, this means that breathing cleaner air, thanks to an air purifier, you may not only be healthier, but you may also enjoy life a little bit more. When you think about it, it is actually amazing what clean air can do for a person.

Another benefit to owning an air purifier is the cost of owning one. Unfortunately, many individuals believe that air purifiers cost too much money. It is true that their costs can be high, but you need to think about what you are getting from them. Can you really put a price tag on clean, healthy, and breathable air? Even if you must put a price tag on it, you will find that you have a number of different options. Air purifiers come in a number of different makes and models. Each of those makes and models costs a certain amount of money. This means that, with a little bit of research, you should be able to find at least one air purifier that is within your price range.

As great as air purifiers are, it is important to remember one thing. You can not reap the many benefits of owning an air purifier if you do not use it. There are many individuals who make the purchase, but do not properly use their air purifiers, if they even use them at all. In most cases, you will find that air purifiers work best if you use them all of the time. This will allow your air purifier to keep up with all of the air particles floating around inside your home or inside a particular room. Essentially, this means that if you make the decision to purchase an air purifier, make sure you actually use it.

As you should easily be able to tell, air purifiers have a number of different benefits. Each of these benefits are likely to help you out, in one way or another. Therefore, if you haven’t thought about purchasing an air purifier before, it is about time that you give it some serious though. You may very well find it to be one of the best purchases that you ever made.
